Your Tips for the best Gifts

Some kids are very hard to buy for, others are too easy to buy for and may already have everything under the sun!

The best gift can be something that costs absolutely nothing like writing a story for a child (where they are the star of course), or creating something with them like a picture frame or something they can hopefully treasure for years to come!

Other great gifts can be first edition books, personalised furniture etc etc. You get my drift!

We are looking for your feedback on gifts you have bought, made or planned. We will use your comments in a top 10 list of reader’s gifts for kids (pre-teens).

Your ideas do not have to be bought gifts, they can be something you made for someone, a trip you took them on or something else, once it was a great gift for a child we want to hear about it!

The best gift my daughter ever got was from my parents for the occasion of her birth – it was a magnolia tree and still grows in our garden as a reminder. She loves it and in years time will always have it to remind her of the day she was born! A great and significant gift (which we intend to dig up and transplant if we ever move!)

I think a great gift for children of any age is to frame a piece of their artwork. Not an expensive gift but thoughtful. You could even have it scanned and printed onto canvas. Trust me – they will love it!

Caroline – this is a great tip and there is actually an article by our contributing artist discussing framing kids’ art which may be of interest to you http://www.kiddingabout.com/?p=866
